Dream Engine is designed for children and teens ages 8–16. Our privacy program is designed to support the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), and we are working toward independently validated compliance through measures intended to protect children's data:

  • Verifiable Parental Consent: For users under the age of 13, we require verifiable parental consent before collecting any personal data. No account for a child under 13 is activated until consent is obtained.
  • No Sale or Sharing of Minors' Data: Dream Engine Kids LLC does not sell, rent, trade, or otherwise share personal data collected from minors (users under 18) with any third parties for marketing, advertising, or commercial purposes.
  • No Behavioral Advertising: We do not serve behavioral or targeted advertising to any user, including children.

  • Parental Access & Control: Parents and guardians can review, modify, or delete their child's personal information at any time through the Parent Dashboard or by contacting us at parents@dreamengine.ai.
  • Right to Revoke Consent: Parents may revoke consent at any time, which will result in the deactivation and deletion of the child's account.

For full details, see our COPPA Compliance page and Parental Consent Form.

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell personal information. We may share data with:

  • Service providers who help operate our platform (under strict data protection agreements)

5. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access your personal data
  • Correct inaccurate information
  • Delete your account and associated data
  • Export your data in a portable format
  • Opt out of certain data processing

To exercise your right to data export, deletion, or privacy controls, visit Settings → Compliance in your dashboard. Account deletion is immediate and permanent.

6. Data Security

We implement the following technical and organizational measures to protect personal information:

  • Encryption in transit: All data transmitted between your device and our servers is encrypted using TLS 1.2 or higher (HTTPS). No unencrypted connections are accepted.
  • Encryption at rest: All stored data — including database records, uploaded files, and backups — is encrypted at rest using AES-256 encryption.
  • Database security: Row-level security (RLS) policies ensure users can only access their own data. Administrative access requires additional authentication.
  • Authentication: Secure token-based authentication with automatic session expiry. Passwords are never stored in plaintext.
  • Access controls: Role-based access control (RBAC) is enforced throughout the platform. The principle of least privilege is applied to all system components and personnel.
  • File storage: All uploaded files are stored in secure cloud storage with AES-256 encryption at rest and access controlled via signed URLs with automatic expiry.
  • Payment data: Credit card and payment information is handled exclusively by Stripe, a PCI DSS Level 1 certified payment processor. Dream Engine never stores, processes, or has access to full payment card numbers.

HOWEVER, NO METHOD OF TRANSMISSION OVER THE INTERNET OR METHOD OF ELECTRONIC STORAGE IS 100% SECURE. WHILE WE STRIVE TO USE COMMERCIALLY ACCEPTABLE MEANS TO PROTECT YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION, WE CANNOT GUARANTEE ITS ABSOLUTE SECURITY. YOU ACKNOWLEDGE AND ACCEPT THAT ANY TRANSMISSION OF PERSONAL INFORMATION IS AT YOUR OWN RISK, AND WE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY UNAUTHORIZED ACCESS, HACKING, DATA LOSS, OR OTHER BREACH OF SECURITY.

7. Data Retention

We retain personal data only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this Privacy Policy:

  • Active accounts: Data is retained for the duration of your active account or, for school/organization accounts, the duration of the service contract.
  • Contract termination: Upon termination of a school or organization contract, all associated student data will be permanently deleted or de-identified within ninety (90) days.
  • Inactive accounts: Accounts with no login activity for twelve (12) consecutive months may be flagged for deletion. We will notify the account holder (or parent/guardian) via email at least thirty (30) days before deletion.
  • On-demand deletion: Users, parents, and school administrators may request immediate deletion of their data at any time through the Settings → Compliance section of their dashboard.
  • Backups: Backup copies of deleted data are purged within thirty (30) days of primary deletion.
